Goal

Suppose I create a file and transfer it to you, like this webpage over the internet. How do you know it was created by me? There is some level of trust involved, both that the sender is who they claim to be and that the network does not modify the message. This trust can be exploited. To address this, various cryptographic methods and protocols have been established.

One such method is to use asymmetric cryptography. It requires two keys - a public key and a private key. The private key modifies data in such a way that the original data can only be revealed with the public key. By using someone's public key to "unlock" a message, you can be sure that it was created by the person that has the private key.

There are different variations and mechanisms that can be used, but asymmetric cryptography always has a private key. It is very important to keep this key safe! If anyone manages to copy it from you, they can impersonate you. However, protecting this key is difficult because its use case requires easy network access. For most users, it may be trivial to compromise these private keys given a sufficiently determined attacker. The goal of this project is to implement a system that provides higher security for private keys.
